Miscellaneous Information

Short bio:

Katarina is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economic Policy, specialising in labour economics, with a focus on migration and automation. Her interests lie in inequality of opportunity along dimensions such as gender or origin, and in identifying vulnerable groups. She also holds a position at the Institute for Financial Policy (Ministry of Finance). There she has developed strong expertise in evaluating microdata, particularly administrative data from social security records, unemployment registers, and matched employer-employee data. Together with her institutional and forecasting knowledge, this expertise informs her work on labour market dynamics and policy evaluation. Katarina earned her doctorate from the Vienna University of Economics and Business and worked with the Research Group for Labour Market and Social Policy at the Institute for Advanced Studies in Vienna. She also served as an analyst at the Ministry of Labour in Slovakia and held research fellowships at the National Bank of Slovakia and the Austrian Institute for Economic Research.
