NHF students among the best - RETC 2022
The Department of Banking and International Finance has again this year prepared students of the study programme Financial Markets and Investment and PhD students for participation in the Rotman European Trading Competition - RETC 2022.
This time a pair of lecturers Assoc. Prof. Jana Kotlebová, PhD. and Assoc. Prof. Peter Árendáš, PhD. nominated two representative teams for the competition.
NHF students Ing. Claudia Kronková, Ing. Viktória Mičjanová, Ing. Mário Zeman, Ing. Juraj Dedinský, Ing. Marko David Vateha, Bc. Barbora Biesiková, Bc. Lenka Bosáčiková, Bc. Patrik Kokočák and Bc. Kamil Fedák competed this year on August 26, 2022 in an online environment. 31 teams from 25 European universities registered for the competition.
The team of PhD students took a beautiful 3rd place and the team of engineering students took a very close 6th place.
This year the competition was in bond pricing based on benchmark rates and market news and their subsequent trading (EIB Interest Rate Case), in electricity spot and forward market trading (Enel Electricity Trading Case) and in Intesa SanPaolo Algo algorithmic trading (Python used for our team) in the Rotman Interactive Trader environment.
